Would you believe, it's time to Get Smart? ถึงเวลาสำหรับ เก็ทสมาร์ท

Today (25 Sep 2015) is the day Don Adams passed away ten years ago.  Some of you especially My Thai readers might ask, who on earth is Don Adams?  I tell you why. In my Kingsman article, I merely mentioned Get Smart and said I was going to write about it one day. Today is the day.

วันนี้ (๒๕ กย ๒๕๕๘) เป็นวันที่ ดอน อดัมส์ ลาโลกเมื่อสิบปีที่แล้ว ท่านผู้อ่านส่วนใหญ่คงนึกในใจ ใครหว่า ดอน อดัมส์ มาสิผมจะบอกให้ว่าใคร ในบทความเก่า โคตรพิทักษ์บ่มพยัคฆ์ ผมกล่าวเพียงเล็กน้อยถึงหนังทีวีเรื่องเก็ทสมาร์ท ผมบอกไว้อีกว่าแล้วผมจะเขียนถึงเรื่องนี้อีกที เอาละวันนี้ผมจะกล่าวถึงเก็ทสมาร์ทกัน

Don Adams or what is his actual full name Donald James Yarmy, is the man potraying the character of Maxwell Smart from the TV program in 1960s era, Get Smart.  Yes, before there was Get Smart big screen in 2008 , it was a big series made famous by Don Adams during 1966 - 1970.  It was produced by Mel Brooke, the man who made several famous humorous movies like Silent movie, Blazing Saddles, etc., during 1970s till 1980s.  It was on air for the first time on 18 September 1966, thus same month again.

ดอน อดัมส์ หรื่อชื่อเต็มว่า โดนัล เจมส์ ยาร์มี่ คือนักแสดงผู้รับบทแมกส์เวล สมาร์ท จากหนังชุดทีวีในยุคห้าสิบปีที่แล้ว เก็ทสมาร์ท ครับ ก่อนที่จะมาเป็นภาพยนตร์ในปี ๒๕๕๐ มันเป็นหนังทีวีที่ดังมากมาก่อนโดยการแสดงของดอน อดัมส์ ออกฉายครั้งแรกเมื่อ ๑๘ กันยายน ๒๕๐๙ เดือนนี้อีกเช่นกัน หนังทีวีเรื่องนี้อำนวยการสร้างโดย เมล บรูคส์ ซึ่งสร้างหนังตลกล้อเลียนที่โด่งดังหลายเรื่องเมื่อกว่า ๓๐ ปีมาแล้ว เช่น หนังเงียบ ไซเลนท์ มูฟวี่ และ เบลสซิ่ง แซดเดิลส์ นั่นเอง

Get Smart is spy comedy series with the aim to directly parody the James Bond films, already a big hit at that time.  That is why you see several gadgets in the show.  And of course, the most famous gadget introduced in the series is the one mentioned in Kingsman, the shoe phone! They even had one bad guy called Doctor Yes, the answer to James Bond's Doctor No.

หนังทีวีเรื่องนี้ดำเนินเรื่องเกี่ยวกับโลกของสายลับซึ่งตั้งใจล้อเลียนโดยตรงกับภาพยนตร์ชุด เจมส์ บอนด์ ดังนั้นเราจึงเห็นเครื่องไม้เครื่องมือพิเศษมากมายในรายการ  และแน่นอน ที่มีชื่อเสียงที่สุดก็คือโทรศัพท์รองเท้าที่ถูกกล่าวถึงใน โคตรพิทักษ์นั่นเอง อีกอย่างในตอนหนึ่ง ฝ่ายตัวร้ายถึงกับมีชื่อว่า ดอกเตอร์ เยส เพื่อล้อเลียน ดอกเตอร์ โนในเจมส์ บอนด์กันเลยทีเดียว

Maxwell Smart is a spy agent of the organisation , CONTROL, with the code number 86. His name does not suggest his actual intelligence though.   Think of Rowan Atkinson's Johnny English for comparison.  But his partner and later love interest, Agent 99 (played perfectly by the charming Barbara Feldon) is a real clever one.  They will go against an evil organisation called KAOS.  And this is the main plot of the series along the way.  Smart made many funny lines during the show which became his signatures.  The one I like and remember most is "missed by that much".

แมกส์เวล สมาร์ทเป็นสายลับจากองค์การรัฐบาลชื่อว่า คอนโทรล โดยมีรหัสเป็นสายลับหมายเลข ๘๖ ถึงแม้ชื่อของเขาจะหมายถึงความชาญฉลาด แต่เขากลับเป็นในทางตรงข้าม นึกถึงตัวละคร จอนนี่ อิงลิชของโรแวน แอตกินสันเพื่อเป็นการเปรียบเทียบก็แล้วกัน แต่คู่หูของสมาร์ทซึ่งต่อมากลายเป็นคนรักของเขา สายลับหมายเลข ๙๙ ซึ่งแสดงโดย บาบาร่า เฟลดอน นั้นต่างหากที่เฉลียวฉลาด พวกเขาจะต้องต่อกรกับองค์การร้ายชื่อ เคออส และนี่ก็คือเนื้อหาหลักของเรื่อง สมาร์ทจะพูดคำกล่าวติดตลกสั้นๆในทุกๆตอน แต่ที่ผมชอบและจดจำมากที่สุดคือ "พลาดไปแค่นี้เอง"

I think that Don Adam was wonderful in Maxwell Smart role,  just like he was born to play smart.  It is quite sad though to know that he was type cast to the character so he could not escape his own success to settle in other roles afterwards.  He played the first big screen of Get Smart in 1980, The Nude Bomb, but it was not as success as the TV series was.  I do like this movie any way. By the way, the legendary Sylvia Kristel who played in Emmanuelle films also starred in this movie.

ผมว่าดอน อดัมส์ เกิดมาเพื่อรับบทบาทนี้อย่างแท้จริง แต่มันก็น่าเศร้าเหมือนกันเมื่อรับรู้ว่าเขาไม่สามารถสลัดภาพพจน์แมกส์เวล สมาร์ทเพื่อไปรับบทอื่นๆได้ในภายหลัง เขากลับมารับบทสมาร์ทอีกครั้งในหนังใหญ่ครั้งแรกจริงๆของเก็ท สมาร์ท เดอะ นู๊ด บอมบ์ในปี ๒๕๒๓ แต่มันก็ไม่ประสบความสำเร็จมากนัก ถึงอย่างไรผมก็ชอบหนังเรื่องนี้อยู่ดี อ้อนางเอกเอมมานูเอลในตำนาน ซิลเวีย คริสเตลก็เล่นด้วยนะ

I could not recall if the series was on air in Thailand or not.  I first had a chance to watch in in early 1990s when I went to study in Australia and loved the show immediately.  I has personally owed the show for it was the reason my English skills especially listening skill had improved a great deal.  I remembered when I arrived first in Australia with my wife, we could hardly understand what they said in the TV at all. 

ผมจำไม่ได้ว่า หนังทีวีเก็ทสมาร์ทได้เคยฉายในเมืองไทยหรือไม่ ผมมีโอกาสได้ดูครั้งแรกก็เมื่อตอนไปเรียนต่อที่ประเทศออสเตรเลีย ก็กว่ายี่สิบปีมาแล้ว รู้สึกชื่นชอบรายการในทันที ผมรู้สึกสำนึกเป็นอย่างมากว่า หนังทีวีชุดนี้ได้ช่วยพัฒนาภาษาอังกฤษของผม โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งทักษะการฟัง ดีขึ้นเป็นอย่างมาก  จำได้ว่าเมื่อไปถึงออสเตรเลียใหม่ๆ ผมและภรรยาไม่เข้าใจกันสักเท่าไรหรอก เวลาดูทีวีที่นั่นนะ

I also remember reading an article in magazine during my time in Australia featuring an interview with one successful migrant to Australia from a war-torn south east Asia country.  He stated that the Get Smart series played a big role to him in coping with the stress he got to settle in a new country with total different culture and way of living.  The statement I myself fully agree.

และผมก็จำได้ด้วยว่าเคยอ่านบทความเรื่องหนึ่งในช่วงเวลานั้นที่ผมอยู่ที่ออสเตรเลีย มันเกี่ยวกับคำสัมภาษณ์ผู้อพยพคนหนึ่งจากประเทศทางแถบเอชียอาคเนย์ในช่วงที่มีสงครามแบ่งกลุ่มกว่าสามสิบปีมาแล้ว ซึ่งได้มาอาศัยอยู่ในออสเตรเลีย เขากล่าวว่า เก็ทสมาร์ทเป็นสิ่งสำคัญสิ่งหนึ่งที่ช่วยให้เขาผ่านความยากลำบากและความเครียด ในการที่จะต้องมาใช้ชีวิตในประเทศที่มีขนบประเพณีที่แตกต่างโดยสิ้นเชิงจากประเทศของเขา เป็นคำพูดที่ผมเห็นด้วยอย่างแท้จริง

Cherished Comics volume 2: Bride of Deimos , Dr. Slump and Arale การ์ตูนในดวงใจ ชุด ๒ เจ้าสาวซาตาน, ดร. สลัมป์และอาราเล่

I recently went back to raed my Candy Candy and Crest of the Royal Family article.  It reminded me that I still have at least two Japanese comics in similar period which I have always regarded as personal favourite.  The twos are Bride of Deimos and of course, Dr. Slump and Arale.  In order to make my Cherished Comics more complete, I will talk about these two mangas today.

 เมื่อเร็วๆนี้กลับไปอ่านบทความเก่าเกี่ยวกับแคนดี้และคำสาปฟาโรห์ แล้วนึกขึ้นได้ว่ายังมีการ์ตูนญี่ปุ่นอีกอย่างน้อยสองเรื่อง ในยุคใกล้เคียงกันที่เป็นความชื่นชอบส่วนตัว นั่นก็คือ เจ้าสาวซาตาน และ ดร.สลัมป์และอาราเล่นั่นเอง ดังนั้นขอพูดถึงการ์ตูนสองเรื่องนี้ในวันนี้นะครับเพื่อให้บทความการ์ตูนในดวงใจของผมสมบูรณ์ยิ่งขึ้น

Firstly, Bride of Deimos was written in same year as Candy Cady (1975) by Etsuko Ikeda and illustrated by Yuho Aahibe.  So it is 40th anniversary this year also for Bride of Deimos.  There is a similarity to both Candy and Crest of the Royal Family, Bride of Deimos was written by Japanese writer but based on ancient western myth, ancient Greek to be exact.  However, the events in this story happened to Japanese characters.  One aspect that makes this comic stood out of the others in the same era is that it is Horror-romantic theme!  Not just ordinary romantic story.  This makes the story even more fascinating especially to me who also loved to read horror comics from the US at that time.

เจ้าสาวซาตานแต่งขึ้นในปี ๒๕๑๘ (ปีเดียวกับแคนดี้) โดยเอทสุโกะ อิเกดะ (Etsuko Ikeda) วาดโดยยูโฮะ อาขิเบะ (Yuho Ashibe) ก็ครบรอบ ๔๐ ปีเช่นเดียวกับแคนดี้ และที่คล้ายกับแคนดี้และคำสาปฟาโรห์ก็คือ ถึงแม้ว่าจะแต่งโดยชาวญี่ปุ่นแต่ก็อาศัยโครงเรื่องจากตำนานกรีกโบราณ แต่เรืองนี้ยังคงเกิดขึ้นกับตัวละครชาวญี่ปุ่น แต่สิ่งที่ทำให้มันแตกต่างจากการ์ตูนในยุคเดียวกันคือ มันเป็นเรื่องแนวเขย่าขวัญ แทนที่จะเป็นเรื่องรักโรแมนติคทั่วไปอย่างเดียว นี่มันทำไห้เป็นที่น่าสนใจมากโดยเฉพาะสำหรับผม ซึ่งชื่นชอบการ์ตูนเขย่าขวัญหักมุมของทางฝั่งอเมริกาอยู่แล้ว

Deimos and Minako

Briefly speaking, the main character whose name is Deimos, used to be ancient god.  But he loved his twin goddess sister, Venus.  This is taboo even in the heaven-Olympus.  With this taboo violated, the god king, Zeus was very upset and he punished them both by sending Venus to perish at the bottom of the lake.  Deimos was then cursed to be the devil instead.  Minako, the main female character, became the center of the story as Deimos believes she is the reincarnated body of Venus.  So he wants to lure her into the twilight world so that Venus can possess this body to be his bride again.

 กล่าวโดยย่อ ตัวเอกของเรื่องชื่อเดมอสซึ่งเป็นปีศาจนั้น เคยเป็นเทพมาก่อนแต่หลงรักกับน้องสาวฝาแฝดของตัวเองคือเทพีวีนัส การกระทำอันเป็นที่ต้องห้ามแม้แต่ในสวรรค์นี้ ทำให้เทพเจ้าเซอุสพิโรธ วีนัสถูกสาปให้กลายเป็นซากศพจมอยู่ใต้ทะเลสาบ ส่วนเดมอสก็ถูกสาปให้กลายเป็นปีศาจนั่นเอง มินาโกะ นางเอกกลายมาเป็นศูนย์กลางของเรื่องเพราะเดมอสเขื่อว่าเธอคือร่างจริงของวีนัสที่กลับมาเกิดใหม่ เดมอสต้องการที่จะนำมินาโกะกลับไปสู่โลกของเทพและปีศาจเพื่อให้วีนัสได้เข้าครอบครองร่างนี้เพื่อเป็นเจ้าสาวของเขา

That is the core component of the story.  However, there are more subplots added to the main one.  Deimos will bring Minako into the dark side of humanity.  He will instigate all kinds of unusual incidents happened from human greed, jealous, vengeance.  This adds surprised horror elements into the story. On the other hand, Minako will represent the good of humanity required to balance the fight between good and bad.  That could be the main reason of why finally Deimos really loved Minako and bring the love triangle theme to the story at the end.  This is all my opinion, please remember. lol.

นั่นคือแกนหลักของเรื่อง แต่เดี๋ยวก่อนมันไม่ใช่แค่นั้น เดมอสจะแสดงให้มินาโกะได้เห็นถึงด้านมืดของผู้คน การหลอกลวง ฉ้อฉล ความอิจฉาริษยา การแก้แค้น การทำร้ายซึ่งกันและกัน และอื่นๆ ซึ่งยิ่งทำให้เรื่องเพิ่มความน่าสนใจในแง่ของความสยดสยองที่นึกไม่ถึง ในขณะเดียวกัน มินาโกะก็จะเป็นตัวอย่างของความดีงามซึ่งน่าจะทัดทานด้านมืดของมนุษย์ในโลกนี้นั่นเอง และนั่นก็น่าจะเป็นสาเหตุสำคัญที่ในที่สุดแล้ว เดมอสก็หลงรักมินาโกะอย่างแท้จริง ทำให้กลายเป็นเรื่องรักสามเส้าอีกด้วย อันนี้ตามความเข้าใจของผมเองนะ

I read this comic in bit and piece, and knew just recently that it did not end completely, just stopped to be published abruptly after in print for a while.  This is not unusual for Japanese comics, however.  With the subplot ended in each episode, there will be no problem for readers to grab any and read it.  It requires no sequential reading, unlike other long and complicated stories.

 ผมได้อ่านเรื่องนี้อย่างไม่ค่อยประติดประต่อ แต่ก็รับรู้ในภายหลังว่ามันไม่มีบทจบที่สมบูรณ์เช่นเดียวกับคำสาปฟาโรห์ แต่เป็นลักษณะหยุดเขียนหยุดพิมพ์ไปในที่สุด แต่ด้วยเนื้อเรื่องย่อยที่จบเป็นตอนๆไม่เกี่ยวเนื่องกันทำให้สามารถอ่านตอนใดตอนหนึ่งก็ได้ ไม่จำเป็นต้องอ่านต่อเนื่องตั้งแต่ต้น จึงทำให้มันแตกต่างจากการ์ตูนเรื่องยาวทั่วๆไป โดยมีเนื้อเรื่องหลักก็คือการที่เดมอสจะพยายามลวงให้มินาโกะเข้าสู่โลกแห่งวิญญาณเพื่อบรรลุภาระกิจของเขาดังที่กล่าวไปแล้วนั่นเอง 

Now, it is Dr. Slump and Arale turn.  I remember reading this comic while studied at the high school which is more than thirty years ago.  I found that this comic was so cool!  In one aspect, it felt a bit like Doraemon.  Each episode involves some inventions from Dr. Sembe which is similar to those of Doraemon, like time machine, shrinking ray.  The main character is also a robot just like Doraemon which is of course, our beloved Arale.

 ทีนี้มาว่ากันถึงดร.สลัมป์และอาราเล่บ้าง ผมจำได้ว่าอ่านมันครั้งแรกเมื่อเรียนอยู่ขั้นมัธยมปลาย ซึ่งนั่นก็สามสิบกว่าปีมาแล้ว ตอนอ่านครั้งแรกพบว่า เอ้อมันเท่ห์มากเลยนะ ในแง่มุมหนึ่งมันคล้ายกับการ์ตูนโดราเอมอนคือแต่ละตอนจะมีเครื่องไม้เครื่องมือที่แปลกประหลาดและมีบางอย่างที่คล้ายกับของวิเศษของโดเรมอน เช่น ไฟฉายย่อส่วน ยานเวลา ถูกประดิษฐ์ขึ้นมาโดย ดร.เซมเป้ และแก่นกลางของเรื่องก็เป็นหุ่นยนตร์เช่นเดียวกับโดราเอมอน นั่นคือหนูน้อยอาราเล่ 

But the theme of this story is completely different from Doraemon.  This comic is full of black comedies and parodies which I felt unusual to other Japanese comics.  And the idea of making Arale an imperfect robot like short eye sighed, and naive but incredibly powerful is no comparison. Same as making the character of Dr. Sembe a clumsy, funny who always wants to flirt Arale's teacher Midori Yamabuki contrasting to his genius is also great.

แต่อารมณ์ของเรื่องแตกต่างจากโดราเอมอนโดยสิ้นเชิง การ์ตูนเรื่องนี้เต็มไปด้วยความตลกโปกฮาอย่างที่คาดไม่ถึง ผมว่าการสร้างอาราเล่ที่โดยแท้จริงแล้วต้องการให้เป็นหุ่นยนตร์เด็กหญิงที่สมบูรณ์กลับกลายมาเป็นหุ่นยนตร์เด็กสายตาสั้น ซื่อจนอาจจะเป็นซื่อบื้อ แต่ทรงพลังมหาศาลนั้นเป็นความคิดที่ยอดเยี่ยมมาก เช่นเดียวกับการกำหนดให้ ดร.เซมเป้ เป็นจอมลามกที่จ้องแต่จะจีบคุณครูยามาบูกิ ขัดแย้งกับการเป็นนักวิทยาศาสตร์สุดยอดนักประดิษฐ์ก็เป็นไอเดียที่เท่ห์ไม่แพ้กัน

I once mentioned in my Leonard Nimoy tribute article early this year that Mr. Spock character was also displayed in Dr. Slump and Arale.  This is another aspect adding more attractiveness to this comic.  We can find so many of western popular show's characters in this story as well the Japanese own popular culture.  Besides Mr. Spock, we can find characters like Superman, Ridley Scott's Alien, and Clint Eastwood, and others more parodied in Dr. Slump.  We also meet Japanese ones such as Ultraman and those monsters including Godzilla.

ผมเคยกล่าวไว้แล้วเมื่อตอนเขียนไว้อาลัยกับการจากไปของเลียวนาร์ด นิมอยเมื่อตอนต้นปีว่าตัวละคร สป๊อคก็มาโลดแล่นอยู่ในดร.สลัมป์และอาราเล่ด้วยเช่นกัน และนี่คือเสน่ห์อีกอย่างหนึ่งของการตูนเรื่องนี้ เราจะพบตัวละครยอดฮิตจากฝั่งตะวันตกที่ถูกนำมาล้อเลียนในเรื่องมากมาย นอกจากสป๊อคแล้วยังมีอื่นๆเช่น ซุปเปอร์แมน คลิ้น อีสต์วูด เอเลียน ในขณะเดียวกันกับตัวละครฮิตของญี่ปุ่นก็มาปรากฎตัวให้สังเกตุเห็นเช่นกัน ได้แก่ยอดมนุษย์และเหล่าสัตว์ประหลาดทั้งหลาย รวมถึงก๊อดซิลล่าด้วย

I almost forgot, Dr. Slump and Arale was created since 1980 by Akira Toriyama.  So this year is also 35th anniversary of this comic.  It was introduced to the world before even another Toriyama's work, Dragon Ball.  In my personal thought, Dr. Slump and Arale is Toriyama's masterpiece, not Dragon Ball.  It is still pretty well known today evidence by recent TV rerun and the Arale Hat that is still available in Thailand market.

 เกือบลืม ดร.สลัมป์และอาราเล่ถูกเขียนขึ้นตั้งแต่ปี ๒๕๒๓ โดย อากิระ โทริยาม่า (Akira Toriyama) ปีนี้ (๒๕๕๘) ก็ครบรอบ ๓๕ ปีพอดี ดร. สลัมป์ถูกสร้างขึ้นก่อนที่โทริยาม่าจะเขียนเรื่อง ดราก้อนบอลซะอีก ซึ่งในความเห็นส่วนตัวของผม ดร.สลัมป์ คือ เรื่องที่ดีที่สุดของโทริยาม่า ไม่ใช่ดราก้อนบอล การ์ตูนเรื่องนี้น่าจะยังเป็นที่รู้จักอย่างมาก เห็นได้จากการนำมาฉายใหม่และหมวกอาราเล่ที่ยังคงหาซื้อได้ทั่วไปในเมืองไทย

Kingsman, The Secret Service : Any other connection? โคตรพิทักษ์บ่มพยัคฆ์ เกี่ยวเนื่องอะไรได้บ้างอีกละ

เมื่อวานนี้ เพิ่งจะได้มีโอกาสดูหนังเรื่อง โคตรพิทักษ์บ่มพยัคฆ์ (Kingsman The Secret Service) สำหรับผมซึ่งไม่ใช่นักวิจารณ์หนังมืออาชีพแล้ว หนังสนุกมากครับ ดูเพลินดี  ผมจะไม่วิเคราะห์และวิจารณ์ตัวหนังนะครับ เพราะไม่ใช่จุดประสงค์ของข้อเขียนนี้ แต่จะขอกล่าวถึงเกร็ดเล็กน้อยของหนัง ซึ่งเป็นความเห็นส่วนตัวผมแทนดีกว่า

I just had a chance to watch Kingsman The Secret Service yesterday.  To me which is obviously not professional Film critiques, it was entertaining two hours.  I will not analyse or criticise the film as it is not my objective.  I will instead tell you about some trivia from the film stemmed from my personal thought.

น่าจะเป็นที่ทราบกันดี ไม่จากตัวหนังเอง ก็จากนักวิจารณ์ว่า หนังดำเนินเรื่องที่เกี่ยวกับโลกของสายลับอังกฤษ จึงหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ที่จะถูกเปรียบเทียบกับภาพยนตร์ชุดเจมส์ บอนด์ ซึ่งเป็นหนังสายลับอังกฤษเช่นกัน และตัวหนังเองก็ล้อเลียน เจมส์ บอนด์อย่างเห็นได้ชัด แต่มาในแนวที่โม้เกินจริงมากกว่า สี่ฉากสำคัญที่กล่าวถึงเจมส์ บอนด์ ก็คือชื่อเต็มของหมาพระเอกที่ย่อว่า J B (มีพูดถึง Bourne Identity ด้วยนะ ฮ่า) ฉากโคลิน เฟิร์ทถูกฆ่า ฉากพระเอกฆ่าผู้ร้าย และฉากใกล้จบที่ เออ ไปหาดูกันเอาเองละกันสำหรับผู้ที่ยังไม่ได้ดู อิอิ

As we may have all known in some ways, the film is about British espionage so it is inevitable to be compared to James Bond movie franchise.  The film itself is a parody to James Bond but in a more over the top mood.  There are four scenes implying James Bond, the name of Eggsy dog (Bourne Identity franchise was also mentioned lol), when Galahad was killed, when Eggsy killed Valentine, and at the approaching end of the film when Eggsy, er you should see it yourselves for those who have not the movie yet, ha ha.


ครับหลังจากดูจบ ด้วยความเห็นส่วนตัวนะครับ ไม่ใช่เจมส์ บอนด์เรื่องเดียวนะครับที่หนังแสดงความเกี่ยวเนื่อง ไม่ว่าจะด้วยการคารวะหรือล้อเลียนก็ตามทีเถอะ ผมว่ายังมีภาพยนตร์หรือหนังทีวีอีกอย่างน้อยสาม สี่เรื่องนะครับ ที่ถูกสอดแทรกไว้อย่างแยบคายโดยไม่ได้พูดถึงอย่างชัดเจนแบบกรณีเจมส์ บอนด์และเจสันบอร์น

After the end of the film, I told myself that besides James Bond and Jason Bourne which the film explicitly  refered, there are stil three or four films that the film has hid some connection implicitly unlike Bond and Bourne.

อย่างทีหนึ่ง ผมว่าการที่กาลาแฮดและเอกซี ถือและใช้ร่มเป็นอาวุธนะ เป็นการระลึกถึงหนังชุดทางทีวีของอังกฤษที่ดังมากเมื่อ ๔๐ ถึง ๕๐ ปีทีแล้ว เรือง The Avengers (คนละเรื่องกับมาร์เวลนะครับ) ที่ฉายในเมืองไทยในชื่อว่า ขวัญใจสายลับ พระเอกของเรื่อง จอห์น สตีดถือร่มและใส่หมวกเป็นสัญลักษณ์ประจำตัวนะครับ อ้อ จอห์น สตีด รับบทโดย แพทริค แมคนี ดาราชาวอังกฤษผู้ซึ่งเพิ่งจากไปเมื่อปลายเดืนมิถุนายนปีนี้เอง ด้วยอายุ ๙๓ ปีนะครับ ขอไว้อาลัยไว้ในที่นี้ด้วย อีกอย่างนะ ขวัญใจสายลับนะ นางเอก (ซึ่งเปลี่ยนตัวละครไปหลายคนหลังจากหลายฤดูการสร้าง) เก่งและเด่นพอๆกับพระเอกนะครับ การที่ Kingsman มีการกระจายบทเด่นให้นางเอกรอกซี ก็พอจะกล้อมแกล้มได้นะ ผมว่า

Firstly, I think both Galahad and Eggsy carried and used umbrellas weapon is somehow reminding me as to the British TV series of 1960s, The Avengers (not to be confused with Marvel's film).  The protagonist of the series named John Steed carried umbrella and weared bowler hat as his symbol.  By the way, the British actor who played Steed, Patrick Macnee, just passed away in late June 2015 at the age of 93.  So I would like to pay condolences to him too.  Furthermore, The female protagonists of the Avengers,  whom were changed during so many seasons on air, had an equivalent script and role with John Steed.  So I said the way Roxy in Kinsman also has quite important role is another implication, I guess.

แล้วตอนที่เอกซีเลือกรองเท้านะ ก็มีการสอดแทรกมุขจากหนังทีวี ซึ่งต่อมากลายเป็นภาพยนตร์เมื่อไม่กี่ปีมานี้เรื่อง Get Smart ด้วยนะครับ ตอนที่กาลาแฮดพูดว่าบางคนใช้มันเป็นโทรศัพท์ด้วย ไว้ผมจะพูดถึงหนังทีวีเรื่องนี้โดยละเอียดอีกครั้งสำหรับชาวไทยที่อาจไม่รู้จักตัวหนังทีวีซึ่งส่วนตัวแล้ว คิดว่าเป็นอีกหนึ่งหนังทีวีขึ้นหิ้งนะครับ

And the scene when Eggsy was choosing his shoes, there was also some reference to another 1960s TV Series which later was adopted in to Movie recently, Get Smart.  You know it when you hear Galahad made comment that someone even used the shoes as Telephone.  Someday I will write about this series again for my future article for Thai readers who may not know about this series.  I myself think that this is another classic TV series worth mentioned in full details.

Casino Royale ปี ๒๕๑๐ ซึ่งเป็นเจมส์ บอนด์ฉบับนอกคอก ที่มีดาราใหญ่สมัยนั้นร่วมเล่นมากมายเช่น เดวิด นิเวน ปีเตอร์ เซลเลอร์ เออร์ซูล่า แอนเดรส และ วูดดี้ อัลเลน ก็น่าจะถูกอ้างอิงเหมือนกันนะครับ ในฉากที่เมอร์ลิน กระตุ้นวงจรที่ฝังในหัวเหล่าร้ายให้ระเบิดอย่างพิสดารและเอ้อ สวยงามนั้นนะ ใน Casino Royale ก็มีฉากคล้ายๆกัน แต่เกิดขึ้นแค่คนเดียว คือวูดดี้ อัลเลนได้กลืนระเบิดปรมณูจิ๋วเข้าไป ก่อนระเบิด วูดดี้ก็เรอหรือสะอึกออกมาเป็นกลุ่มควันดอกเห็ดคล้ายๆกับใน Kingsman นั่นละครับ

Casino Royale (1967) which is another James Bond film but rather humorous and campy one with full ensemble cast like David Niven, Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, and Woody Allen, is another movie referenced in Kingsman, in my opinion.  The scene when all the bad guys' head exploded beautifully is similar to one scene in Casino Royale.  It is when Woody Allen's character who swallowed Tiny Atomic bomb and he made burp or some kind before it went off.  The was a small mushroom cloud every time he burped just like in Kingsman.

สุดท้าย ไม่รู้ว่าจงใจหรือเปล่า ไมเคิล เคนนะ เคยเล่นเป็นสายลับอังกฤษในฉบับจริงจังเรื่อง The Ipcress File ซึ่งตัวหนังเองก็สร้างเป็นการเปรียบเทียบกับ เจมส์ บอนด์เช่นกันนะครับ แต่อย่างที่บอกเป็นในแนวหนักแน่น จริงจังมากกว่า ก็อาจะพอกล้อมกแล้มได้อีกเช่นกันนะครับ แต่เอ้อสุดท้ายก็ยังวกมาหาเจมส์ บอนด์อยู่ดี ผมเองยังไม่เคยดูหนังเรื่องนี้นะครับ

Lastly whether it is intentional or not, Michael Caine once played a British Spy but in a more serious tone called Ipcress File.  The film itself was made to compare to the James Bond film but as mentioned in a more dramatic way.  So it may be another connection but still intertwined with James Bond at the end.  I have not seen this film yet.

อ้อเกือบลืม ฉากแม่พระเอกพยายามพังประตูห้องน้ำเข้าไปทำร้ายลูกสาวตัวเองก็ชวนให้ระลึกถึงฉากคล้ายๆกันฉากหนึ่งในหนังสยองขวัญของผู้กำกับผู้ล่วงลับ แสตนลีย์ คูบริคเรื่อง The Shinning เมื่อปี ๒๕๒๓ เหมือนกัน ซึ่งใน The Shinning พระเอกขาดสติ หรือถูกครอบงำเหมือนกันนะถ้าจำไม่ผิด

Oh, I forgot.  The scene where Eggsy's mom lost conscious due to the wave and tried to break into the bath room to kill her own daughter was reminding me the similar scene from The Shining (1980) of the late director Stanley Kubrick.  In the Shining, Jack Nicholson's character also tried to break into Bathroom to kill his wife and son after possessed by some kind of ghost or something.
