โลกได้รับข่าวร้ายของการจากไปของ บรูซ ลี ( Bruce Lee ) สุดยอดดารานักบู๊ยุคต้นๆ ชาวฮ่องกง
ผู้ทำให้โลกตื่นตะลึงกับมวยกังฟูของจีน โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งกับชาวตะวันตก ผมยังอายุน้อยมาก
เมื่อรับรู้ข่าวนี้ ถึงแม้ว่าผมจะยังเด็กเกินไปและไม่ได้รับชมภาพยนตร์ของเขาก็ตาม
แต่ก็รู้สึกตกใจ และเสียใจอย่างมาก เพราะว่าในเมืองไทย บรูซ ลี
ดังมากกับภาพยนตร์ชุดไอ้หนุ่มซินตึ้ง นับถึงปีนี้ก็เป็นปีที่ ๔๒ แล้วจากการจากไปของเขา
เมื่อสองสามเดือนก่อนหน้านี้
เห็นโฆษณาหนังในทีวีดิจิตอลช่องหนึ่งมีภาพของบรูซลีแวบหนึ่งในโฆษณานั้น
ก็เกิดความยินดีขึ้นมา ด้วยความรู้สึกขึ้นมาว่า ดีจริง ๔๒ ปีแล้ว บรูซ ลี ยังปรากฏตัวในทีวีได้
จึงเป็นหัวข้อของบทความนี้ขึ้นมา ซึ่งจะขอเล่าประวัติโดยสังเขปของเขา
รวมทั้งเกร็ดเล็กๆน้อยๆ ที่อยากนำมาเล่าสู่กันฟัง
On 20th July 1973, The world received a shocking news of the passing of the great martial artist from Hong Kong, Bruce Lee. He was the one who introduced the Chinese Kung Fu to especially the western world. I was still very young at that time and had never watched his movies. Still I was very shocked because Bruce Lee was on his zenith in Thailand with a chain of his Hong Kong made Kung Fu Movies. It has been 42 years now after his demise. Couple of months ago, I saw a glimpse of Bruce Lee in an advertisement promoting programs in one Thailand Digital TV. That brought me some cheerful that even after 42 years, Bruce Lee still has some places in the entertainment world. So I decided to write this article about his short biography and some trivia that I felt I should talk about.

บรูซ ลี เกิดวันที่ ๒๗ พฤศจิกายน ๒๔๘๓ ที่ ซานฟรานซิสโก คาลิฟอร์เนีย สหรัฐอเมริกา จากบิดา มารดาชาวฮ่องกง และกลับไปเติบโตที่ เกาลูน จนกระทั่งอายุ ๑๘ จึงย้ายกลับไปอเมริกาเพื่อศึกษาในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย ในช่วงที่อยู่ที่เกาลูนนี่เอง บรูซ ลีมีโอกาสได้เป็นดาราเด็กและแสดงหนังหลายเรื่อง และสำคัญที่สุดได้เป็นลูกศิษย์ของ ยิป มัน ปรมาจารย์มวยหย่ง ชุน ดังที่เราทราบกันดี
Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco, California, USA on 27 November 1940 to a Hong Kong couple. He was brought and raised in Kowloon, Hong Kong until the age of 18 when he moved back to the US for university study. During his time in Hong Kong, he had opportunity to be a child movie star and of course to train with Yip Man, the famous Wing Chun master.
บรูซ ลี เริ่มสอนกังฟูเมื่อกลับมาอเมริกา และเข้าร่วมโชว์ในการแข่งขันการต่อสู้ และมีโอกาสได้แสดงหนังทีวี ชุด หน้ากากแตน (The Green Hornet) โดยรับบทเป็นเคโต้ (Kato) ผู้ช่วยหน้ากากแตน ซึ่งเริ่มนำชื่อเสียงมาให้บรูซ ลี โดยเฉพาะในเอเชีย ขอนอกเรื่องหน่อย ผมชื่นชอบและยังจำหนังทีวีชุดนี้ได้จนทุกวันนี้ก็เพระความชื่นชมบรูซ ลีนั่นเอง โดยส่วนตัวแล้วชอบหน้ากากแตนมากกว่ามนุษย์ค้างคาว (Batman) ชึ่งสร้างและฉายในช่วงเดียวกันซะอีก ยังรู้สึกขำมาจนทุกวันนี้ว่า ในตอนหนึ่งที่นำหน้ากากแตนมาเจอกับมนุษย์ค้างคาว โรบินสามารถต่อกรกับเคโต้ได้อย่างสูสี ซึ่งในความเป็นจริง โรบินคงจะโดนน๊อคในไม่กี่วินาทีแน่ๆ ความเห็นส่วนตัวนะครับ ฮา บรูซ ลี ยังได้ผสมผสานวิชากังฟูต่างๆที่เขาเรียนมา และประยุกต์เป็นรูปแบบใหม่ของตนเองในชื่อ จีท คูน โด ( Jeet Kune Do )
Bruce Lee started to teach Kung Fu when he was back to the US and took demonstration part in many fighting competitions. And yes, he also co-stared in the famous Green Hornet TV Series as Kato which brought him into limelight especially in Asian market. This is one series I really admire personally and still in my memory till now because of Bruce Lee himself. I remember liking this show more than Batman series which was produced and aired during the same time. I still feel funny until now thinking of one or two special episodes of Batman when the Green Hornet and Kato were special guests. Why? Because in these episodes, Robin could be able to go against Kato one on one even though in real life? I do not think so, mate, lol. Bruce Lee also combined the strength of all knowledge he had trained and introduce his own fighting method to the world, Jeet Kune Do!

บรูซ ลี กลับมาร่วมแสดงหนังฮ่องกง ประเดิมด้วย ไอ้หนุ่มซินตึ้ง (The Big Boss) เมื่อปี ๒๕๑๔ และนั่นเป็นจุดเริ่นต้นของชื่อเสียงที่ดังเป็นพลุแตก จนกระทั่งนำมาซึ่งโอกาสแสดงหนังฮอลลีวู้ดเรื่องแรก และเรื่องเดียว ไอ้หนุ่มซินตึ้ง มังกรประจัญบาน (Enter the Dragon) ก่อนจะพบจุดจบปริศนาในปี ๒๕๑๖ นั่นเอง เป็นเรื่องน่าเศร้าจริงๆ ที่เขาจากไปเมื่ออายุเพียง ๓๒ ปี เพราะ แบรนดอน ลี ( Brandon Lee ) ลูกชายคนโตของเขาก็เสียชีวิตในขณะอายุน้อยและเริ่มมีชื่อเสียงในฮอลลีวู๊ดเช่นเดียวกัน ( เกิด ๒๕๐๘ เสียชีวิต ๒๕๓๖ ) มันช่างเหมือนเป็นคำสาปของครอบครัวจริงๆ
At the beginning of seventies decade, Bruce Lee went back to Hong Kong to be in several Hong Kong action movies starting by The Big Boss ( 1971 ). That marked the beginning of his big stardom which at last brought an opportunity for him to play in his first and only Hollywood film, Enter the Dragon ( 1973 ). Then, he met his mysterious death before the film premiere in the same year. It was such a sad story because he was only 32 which is similar age to his son, Brandon Lee ( 1965 - 1993 ) who was gone at the age of 28 while he started to gain his status in several Hollywood films. It is like the curse of the family indeed.
สิ่งที่ผมอยากพูดถึงเพิ่มเติมอย่างแรก ก็คือ เมื่อประมาณ ๒๐ ปีที่แล้ว ได้ชมภาพยนตร์ชีวประวัติของเขา เรื่อง ( Dragon : The Bruce Lee Story ) ถึงได้รู้ว่าหนังไอ้หนุ่มซินตึ้งเรื่องแรกนั้น ถ่ายทำในเมืองไทย! ครับ อย่างที่บอก ผมยังเด็กมากในตอนที่หนังเรื่องนี้ออกฉาย และเมื่อได้ดูหนังเรื่องไอ้หนุ่มซินตึ้งเมื่อเร็วๆนี้จริงๆ ก็รู้สึกหวนคิดถึงอดีตและภูมิใจจริงๆ ที่ประเทศไทยได้รับเกียรติให้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของหนังเรื่องนี้ และความสำเร็จแรกของบรูซ ลี
Now, the first thing I want to add is that I had chance to watch the movie called: Dragon : The Bruce Lee Story, 20 years ago. So I knew from that movie that The Big Boss was shot in Thailand! As mentioned earlier, I was just a kid when this movie was released back in 1971. Then I watched this movie recently and it gave me some nostalgic feel again. Furthermore, I am so proud that my country was a part of history in his really first big movie.

อีกเรื่องหนึ่ง เมื่อสักสองสามปีที่ผ่านมา เมื่อหนังเรื่อง เฉินเจิน หน้ากากฮีโร่ ( Legend of the Fist : The Return of Chen Zhen ) ออกฉาย ผมก็รู้สึกหงุดหงิดขึ้นมา ไม่ใช่กับตัวหนัง เดี๋ยวจะเล่าให้ฟังครับ บทเฉิน เจินนี้ บรูซ ลีได้แสดงมาก่อน ใน ไอ้หนุ่มซินตึ้งล้างแค้น ( Fists of Fury ) ในภายหลัง เจ็ท ลี ก็มารับบทนี้ในการนำมาสร้างใหม่ ก่อนที่ ดอนนี่ เยน จะมารับบทในครั้งนี้ ผมว่าหนังดูสนุกและทำได้ดี และที่เห็นอย่างเด่นชัดมากก็คือ การแสดงการคารวะอย่างชัดเจนต่อตัว บรูซ ลี จากการที่ให้เฉิน เจินทำหน้าที่ต่อต้านทหารญี่ปุ่นโดยการแต่งตัวเป็นฮีโร่หน้ากากดำ นี่มันชัดเจนมากครับ ขอย้ำ เพราะนี่คือชุดของ เคโต้ จากหน้ากากแตนนั่นเอง !! เฉินเจินในเวอร์ชั่นที่ผ่านๆมา ไม่เคยต้องใส่หน้ากากนะครับ และจากการสัมภาษณ์ของผู้กำกับ แอนดรู เหลา เอง ก็กล่าวไว้ชัดเจนเช่นกันว่านำมาจากหน้ากากแตน อีกทั้งดอนนี่ เยน ก็ได้กล่าวไว้ว่าเขาใช้กระบองสองท่อน ( Nunchaku ) และการกรีดร้องขณะต่อสู้เพื่อระลึกถึงบรูซ ลี
The other thing is when the film Legend of the Fist : The Return of Chen Zhen was released couple of years ago, I felt a little pissed. Not with the movie, I will come back later. Bruce Lee played the role of Chen Zhen first in Fists of Fury ( 1972 ) before Jet Li repeated the role in the remake and then Donny Yen this time. The movie is of high quality and I did enjoy watching it. One outstanding thing is this movie really tried to pay tribute to Bruce Lee himself. This is evidence from Chen Zhen donning the Black Mask super hero as confirmed by the director, Andrew Lau, that it was from the Green Hornet. Donny Yen also stated that the inclusion of Nunchaku and sharp scream while fighting is direct homage to Bruce Lee.

ตรงนี้แหละที่ผมรู้สึกหงุดหงิดเป็นอย่างมาก เพราะหนังสือแมกกาซีนเกี่ยวกับภาพยนตร์ฉบับหนึ่งในไทย ได้เขียนแนะนำหนังเรื่องนี้ไว้ตอนออกฉายในเมืองไทย แต่พลาดอย่างไม่น่าให้อภัยที่จะกล่าวถึง บรูซ ลี ทั้งๆที่มันขัดเจนซะขนาดนั้น ถ้าบอกว่าคนเขียนเป็นคนรุ่นใหม่ ไม่รู้จัก บรูซ ลี และไม่รู้มาก่อนว่า เฉิน เจินเอง และเคโต้ที่โด่งดัง ก่อนจะมาเป็นภาพยนตร์เมื่อเร็วๆนี้ เป็นบรูซ ลีที่รับบทนี้มาก่อน ผมว่า บรรณาธิการ ก็ไม่ควรจะปล่อยให้ผ่านตาไปเฉยๆ โดยไม่ให้คำแนะนำนะครับ อย่างน้อยควรจะต้องกล่าวถึงตำนานมังกรผู้นี้ไว้ซักเล็กน้อย เพื่อให้ผู้ชมรุ่นใหม่ได้ไปค้นคว้าทำความรู้จักเขา เป็นการกระตุ้นนิสัยการค้นคว้าแก่เยาวชนนักดูหนังด้วย
This particular point that I have felt badly furious as in a big Thai entertainment magazine, a writer failed to mention this obvious Bruce Lee tribute when writing this movie guide! If the excuse is that he was too young to know or be aware of Bruce Lee exist in the entertainment world. I still put the blame on its editor, who should guide the staff to give some to Bruce Lee. This should also stimulate the thinking and enthusiastic of young readers to find out more about the Famous Legend and in turn, promote the good habit of digging for more knowledge. So that is why.

Lastly, I would like to commemorate 42 years of the passing of a true legend with this article. I strongly suggest all the youngsters to try searching and watching The Green Hornet TV Series in youtube and see for yourselves how a legend has begun. You would especially find it is easy to find The Green Hornet vs Batman episodes. I also just found out that there was one pilot of the Green Hornet in which Bruce Lee was starred. And he was the only one member from that pilot that survived and played in the series afterwards. Is not it great?
